Bridal Alterations
I specialize in all types of bridal alterations and customizations such as creating sleeves, capes, veils, re-working vintage gowns, and building custom pieces.
Bridal alterations typically involve between 3 fittings, but can need more depending on the scope of alterations or customizations. Alterations typically begin between 2-3 months ahead of the event date.
The pricing for alterations varies by the fabric of the dress, the way the dress is constructed, and the scope of alterations needed, so an accurate estimate will be determined at the first consultation.
For building custom pieces, I will provide guidance and advice on choosing fabrics, and travel with my clients to search for and pick out our materials.
Custom Sleeves
Sleeves can be added to a dress whether it is originally strapless or sleeveless. I worked with each bride featured to create the sleeves they envisioned, either by ordering extra lace with the help of the bridal shop, or by sourcing something similar.
Vintage Dress Modification
Vintage dresses can be modernized by re-designing or replacing parts of the dress. Each of these dresses was modernized in a different way, whether it was creating a new bodice, creating an addition to make a long train, or turning a dress into separates.
Custom Pieces
I can design and create a custom piece, such as a lace topper, veil, cape, or overskirt to be worn alongside your wedding dress. I worked with these featured brides to create a custom piece that they wore over their dresses during different parts of their wedding day.
